I have always had a love for all animals but especially dogs. I found myself able to form incredible bonds with dogs. As a child I remember offering dog walking and dog training services for the neighborhood dogs.
I had been training dogs professionally but part time for about 6 years and in 2019 I finally made the decision to leave my career of 13 years as a Dementia Practitioner and Memory Care Director and pursue my dreams of dog training.
Growing up we had 2 family dogs; a Dalmatian and a Husky/Shepherd mix and then when I turned 18 I rescued my first dog, a Basenji/Belgian Malinois mix. She had a lot of developmental and psychological issues. I had to quickly learn how to train and handle an unpredictable, reactive dog. Will and I then decided to volunteer as a foster home and we raised and trained around 50 puppies and dogs, helping them prepare for their forever homes.
I trained my first Service Dog in 2013 and taught the dog many different “tasks” to assist with my condition. I have a diagnosis of Dysautonomia (dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system) and more specifically POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). I have since trained 3 of my own Service Dogs and also Service Dogs for other disabled individuals.
Our sire, Blue is my current active Service Dog.
I am passionate about helping owners and their dogs live their best lives! I enjoy teaching owners how to work with their dogs, communicate, over come behavioral issues and build strong bonds!
I am a balanced trainer. This means I walk the teeter-totter between positivity/reward and correction. Like people, every dog is different. A good trainer needs to find the method that fits the dog they are working with.
I will not only teach your dog how to respond but I will teach you how to better read and react to your dog. This will help you become a team and build a bond that you did not even know you needed!

Will Hartman: Owner/Trainer
My love for dogs began as a child and followed as I grew older. It wasn't until I met Alexie and learned how to really work and handle dogs that I turned a fun hobby into my passion and career!
When I decided I wanted to train our first Labrador, Dixie to be my hunting dog, I ended up doing things the hard way (without training guides or resources). I find myself learning every day about Gun Dogs and training!
I now embrace creating a foundation of drive, obedience and love for the game in every dog! No two dogs learn the same, there isn't one "best way" method and I find myself constantly adapting to structure a successful method for each dog!
My passion for hunting, Labradors and now training gundogs has grown to full-time obsession!
I never want to stop loving the dog and loving the hunt!
Concentrations:
- Gun Dogs: waterfowl & upland dogs
- E-collar Conditioning
- Retrievals/Force Fetch
- Hunt Tests
